Fun in the Sun... day. Sunday.

So, still have my job. Just haven't worked a single day since the wedding fair. It's a slow time, and also the weather is terrible. Oh, and now we have student interns to do a lot of grunt work, so there's not as much for me to do in general. *sigh*
Anyway, fun story from Sunday evening:
The Quire has started up rehearsals again, and this week's being our first proper rehearsal of the year/semester, and us having a lot of new people (yay!), our first task was to introduce ourselves. We had to say our name, where we were from (recently), and something you couldn't tell just by looking at us.
I announced that, since I figured people would know about the crochet and the baking soon enough anyway, I would be sharing something different: That I write exactly the kind of fanfiction one would expect, but I still don't have a Tumblr account. This announcement was met with at least one disappointed "Aw :(", as well as the director saying to the accompanist, "I don't know what kind of fanfiction I would expect." Which cracked me up in the worst way, not in the least because this is still the guy who bore an uncanny resemblance to one Dave Strider on our first meeting.
In other news, I've got a white griffin with blue eyes and dark gray beak/forelegs that I've almost finished crocheting and will hopefully go up on my Etsy account soon. Yay, crochet!

Date: 2014-02-06 03:17 am (UTC)Yes, quite glad to have a job myself. And I'm supposed to go in tomorrow morning for an eight hour shift (minus half an hour or so for "lunch"), which I am looking forward to :)
It's looking pretty fantastic so far :3 Since I finished up my white-with-blue-trim dragon during Winter Storm Draco, I'm half-tempted to call the griffin Polar Vortex. At least in my head ;)

Of course, after saying the same thing except worded differently at crafting day, I now have the urge to crochet/hunt down a plush bull in a red color so I can take a picture of it "giving" the griffin wings, which has slowed the process somewhat, but I'll get it done sooner or later.
