Costumery: A small but mightly leaf puff

Posting these pics here first, because I'm too impatient to wait for Habitica to officially announce the Community Costume Challenge for 2016, and I'm proud of 'em, dangit!

Behold, yours truly in the April subscriber item set: Helm o' Flowers and Armor o' Leaves! (I, too, can be a small but mighty leaf puff! ...Well, small as compared to a tree my age.)
I cheated a teensy bit on the leafy mantle there. I'd been wanting to make a second one for some time now, and since I lent my first one to a friend for a photoshoot and wasn't sure it would make it back on time for ICON, I figured this was good motivation. The cheating part is that they're all grape vines, and that it's only 95% complete; you should be able to make out the clusters of grapes in the leaves pretty easily. I'm going to be adding some more colorful grapes before ICON, but I wanted to get the green-only pics taken for the Costume Challenge first. I'll also be switching out the flower helm for a willow twig circlet with more grapes (and a few leaves) sewn to the top of it for ICON, and will have an additional bunch of fake grapes in a silver-colored goblet I plan to carry around.
My potential tagline for the costume? "You've heard of wine and spirits; now get ready for me: the Wine Spirit." (I'm also half-thinking of trying to bug someone for Latin; I know "In Vino Veritas" is "In wine, there is truth"; how about something for "In wine, there are spirits"? I can't imagine it would actually be a bilingual pun, but it amuses me to think of it.)
I've also been encouraged by my brother's fiancee to plant a bunch of real grapes amidst the fake ones, and then occasionally pluck one to take a bite to the amusement of other con-goers, but one of the frequent Guests of Honor has brought a service-dog-in-training to at least two of the three I've been to, and I would worry about dropping a real one. No grapes for doggehs!
I believe it is now time for sleep, to pass the time while I wait for Habitica to post that dang challenge already, grr! Sometime in the near future, though, I need to talk about the joys of tracing. Because boy oh boy, have I ever been missing out!
