Shakesville Adding Meme

I love me some Dreamwidth, but I don't have a lot of people added over here yet. Being as I like a slightly busier reading list, as well as a chance to connect with other Shakers outside of Shakesville, I figured an adding meme was the right way to go :) I've extended it to LiveJournal as well, since I know a lot of Shakers are over there.

Oh, and if anyone's interested in getting a journal on Dreamwidth who hasn't yet, I've got some invite codes up here; if those run out, you can check out
dw_codesharing and pick one up there :) Dreamwidth is also big on accessibility; they've currently got an accessibility poll running over here on
dw_accessibility, if you have the time/spoons to fill it out.

Any particular areas of interest in feminism/womanism: I volunteer in the rape crisis movement and am particularly interested in challenging rape culture (and kyriarchy in general) through education and media
What you post about when you're not posting about feminism/womanism: mostly book reviews. I'm currently doing a close reading of The Hobbit (and probably later The Lord of the Rings) from a progressive geeky perspective; I also write about romance novels.
Anything else: I'd love to have more Dreamwidth friends from Shakesville! My journal's not very busy yet but I'm having fun with it.

What I post about? Lately, I've been trying to write some things about genealogy (studying my own family tree). I also post about what I'm studying in school. To be honest, I haven't been all that active lately, but I do have good intentions to blog more in the future

Favorite thing about Shakesville: being able to leave comments without my usual anxiety and "why did I think anyone wanted to hear from me?" mentality
Any particular areas of interest in feminism/womanism: I have a specific interest in how women and female bodies are dehumanised and used as objects and symbols in illustrative art
What you post about when you're not posting about feminism/womanism: art, music, comics, silliness
Anything else: my own posting has been slow and quiet lately (mostly I post a lot on my tumblr (http://doctorconquest.tumblr.com/)), but I still keep up with my flist ♥

Favorite thing about Shakesville: Blogarounds; Open Threads are growing on me as well. I also really like the feminism 101 resources I can point people to easily.
Any particular areas of interest in feminism/womanism: intersections with racism/homophobia/fatphobia (all areas of interest, being a queer fat woman of color)
What you post about when you're not posting about feminism/womanism: geekery, Abney Park, the occasional political win (overturning Prop 8, frex)
Anything else: I tend to lurk more than post on LJ as my online friends migrate to other services (facebook, twitter, motherfrakking Echo Bazaar, etc). I hope to reverse this trend eventually, but be warned.
