For a company whose revenue comes entirely from their service to Artists (bad or good, mostly from advertising at them I suppose) for them to even think being so strict about the gender thing was ever a good idea is beyond me. I'm fairly certain there are a lot of artists out there that campaign on gender issues. Don't most services these days at least offer an opt-out? Totally expect it's to do with the Advertiser's too.
