Important discovery: When someone gifts you an incredible fic (or other fannish present), watching the hits and kudos and comments and bookmarks go up is almost as satisfying as it is for something you made yourself.
Which is to say, if you are Miraculous Ladybug inclined, do go check out Know Your Name by

alexseanchai, prompted by the Mary Lambert song of the same name (which is the LadyNoir song of my heart, and is also super awesome in its own right); I do not imagine you will be disappointed.

Date: 2019-07-23 01:49 am (UTC)* Life Less Ordinary, by Carbon Leaf (I feel like this one is a little too generic, every-fandom :( Basically about how the singer's life changed for the incredible when they met the other person, partly because they fell in love, but also a bit literally in this case)
* Extraordinary Way, by Conjure One Ft. Poe (He'd love if she returned his love, but he doesn't need her to; it's enough that she accepts him as himself)
* The Promise, by When In Rome (Cat Noir simply cannot figure out a way to express himself around Ladybug; also possibly Marinette to Adrien? Chorus goes: "I'm sorry but I'm just thinking up the right words to say, I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be, But if you wait around a while, then you'll fall for me, I promise you, I promise you!")
* Don't Say You Love Me, by [I can't remember, but it was on the Pokémon 1st Movie US soundtrack] (Ladybug to Cat Noir; not a perfect fit, since it assumes the singer is interested in going there, but the first half of the chorus goes: "Don't say you love me, you don't even know me, If you really want me then give me some time")
* As Loving Goes, by Dashboard Confessionals (Cat Noir to Ladybug, in direct response to the above; lyrics, and this one is (if you'll forgive me) pretty much spot on (though I'll also admit that, listening to it, I swore "I thought I was asylum bound" was "I swore 'I' was a silent vowel", which makes at least as much sense and is probably less ablist))
* Know Your Name, by Mary Lambert (Cat Noir to Ladybug, when things start warming up between them but no reveals quite yet; would work very well for f/f AU or TransGirl!Adrien)
* You Raise Me Up; Traditional, though I've got the Celtic Woman version (Just... their entire relationship is about helping each other be the best person they can be and being there for each other, and how being there for one another makes being a superhero possible for them)
It needs something between the last two to "complete the arc", but I haven't exactly been working on it actively. Or passively, really.
