For April 14th.
I couldn't resist; I went out on a very brief Pokémon drive, mask on every second I was out of the car. Don't think Mom went anywhere; Dad used one of the masks I made to wish a friend happy birthday from a safe distance, but I think that's about it.
Side note, I used the pattern that's mostly rectangular rather than more fitted; I think I'll try the other pattern out once I've used up all the cloth I have ready, because the rectangular masks get under my chin in a way that feels like it's restricting my airway, even though I know intellectually that it's not. Put your finger under your chin right where it meets your neck and press up a bit, and you might get what I'm feeling. It's also hard to find a good way to position the mask with my glasses so the latter doesn't fog up, but that's also a problem with scarves, so I don't think it'll change much just with mask shape. Maybe if I add a nose wire, but I'm not holding my breath. Worse comes to worst, I can navigate the non-driving world reasonably well sans glasses, and the car is a closed enough environment that, as long as I'm the only one in it, I don't feel like I'm endangering anyone particularly from not wearing a mask.

Date: 2020-04-15 01:58 pm (UTC)I totally feel you about the glasses and mask problem - I had to switch to a different pair to get a fit that would stay on my face while wearing a mask. I found a tutorial that suggests cleaning your glasses with soap and water helps prevent fogging, as does putting the mask on and then putting your glasses on OVER the mask. It's not perfect.

Date: 2020-04-16 09:21 am (UTC)Thanks for the tip on soap and water; I'll give that a try. I've already got a decent handle on positioning my glasses on top of my mask, though it probably helps that my lenses have such a massive diameter; the bottom rims end just a bit above the bottom of my nose.
