Oof yeah Darcy would be a pain to find gen fics where she’s actually the main character! My sympathies
My worst ‘good luck finding actual fic!’ ship was Sabriel, in SPN (way back in like, season five) which, in fandoms defense had a fairly thin basis in canon compared to the actual juggernaut
Most of the stuff i ship nowadays are in fandoms with a lot of diff ship options that don’t tend to overlap that heavily (Clone Wars & EU!) or where I ship the main pairing (Guardian) so my success rate at finding fic with accurate tags has definitely gone up over the years.
