I'm sure it will be at least as bad on Mothers Day

Bullet points again, whee 8)

* Valentines Day! I honestly do not hate the holiday. In fact, in principle, I think it's pretty cool. But working at a flower shop over said holiday does not leave one a lot of time to update blogs/online journal-things, so here we are.

* That said, my Friday was amazing ♥ I had to get up early to go to a job interview, which I think went pretty well; while I was in transit back home and still on the positive energy vibes, I called into my favorite radio station and requested one of my favorite songs, and then drove around until I heard the entire thing (it was the live version, which I hadn't heard before, and it was pretty neat to hear other people reacting to the song as it went on); and then I worked from ten to six-ish with a brief break for lunch; I took a trio of yellow-orange roses home with me, since they were going to be thrown out anyway, and right now they're brightening my room next to my computer. They're like a little appreciation present from me to myself :) So happy with them.

* While I feel mostly positively towards Valentines Day in general, my feet hurt like hell from all the standing/walking I've had to do at work. Once I get my next paycheck, I think I may seek out a shoe-specific store and ask what they recommend for "shoes to stand around for a long time in".

* Saturday was an AI meeting, where several things happened! One, Cool Person confirmed that yes, she really had meant she'd pay me $100 for that Xellos amigurumi, which was yay-inducing ♥ She showed him off to pretty much everyone, and I've got more potential Slayers commissions in my future as a result :) It was also our staff recruitment meeting, and there was pizza at four-thirty, which I ate way too much of, and a party in the Presidential Suite afterward, which I only visited and stole a cookie from as I was exhausted. I eventually rounded out the night with the purchase of seasons three and four of Futurama, and then crashing hard. Yay, sleep!

* Today was just work. I mean, there's a Quire rehearsal tonight, but there's no way I'll have the energy, so I'm skipping. I think I'll watch some of those Futurama episodes instead, maybe fix up some breakfast for dinner. But first, I think, a nap.

* Coming tomorrow: my utter destruction at the hands of Valentines Day. But at least Steam Powered is hopefully in the mail by now, so I have that to look forward to, and I can always ask for dorky Valentines Day fic recs, because fluff and funny always cheer me up, and then chocolate is always extra discounted on February 15th (hence Valentines Day also being known as Cheap Candy Eve), so I'm sure I'll be able to scrape myself together again somehow.

How much are you willing to spend for shoes?

Hum. Maybe up to ~$150? They'd have to be really damn good shoes, of course. The most expensive shoes in my arsenal closet so far are my sandals, my previous and current pairs costing around $100 each - mostly because it's hella tough to find the style I like in, say, K-mart :P Fantastically comfortable shoes I could stand for hours in I would consider a work/business investment at this point, particularly if they last forever (see: sandals).

Friend of mine got a pair of dansko (http://www.dansko.com/Product%20Certifications/) shoes and she swears by them. Depending on what kind you buy, prices will vary, but they're pretty expensive. Hers was over $150 but I found some styles that were less than $100.
