Aug. 19th, 2020 11:11 pmSo far so good at my new job thing! It's basically getting paid to sit and read, with occasional interruptions to give people a quick "Do you have Covid symptoms" quiz and take their temperatures. I may yet try drawing or crocheting while I'm there, but in the mean time, it's also nice to actually read some of my "To Read" pile.
Chester the dachshund is also showing improvement! He's been using his rear legs more and more; still not consistently—his primary mode of transportation is currently still to half-drag them along under his butt and half push himself along with them—but I'm happy for any progress.

Date: 2020-08-20 06:51 am (UTC)One of the best jobs I ever had was law library check out clerk back when I was in grad school. I did have to give computer help, answer the phone, occasional listen to people having one sort of crisis or another, read to the rare bored child, and even do a couple check outs every desk shift, but I kept a box of research hidden in the back with "(Legal Name)'s research! Do NOT check in or shelve!!!" on it. I spent most of my shifts reading for my history Master's thesis. Like, I often had a couple of hours of uninterrupted silence to read in. Magical.
stay safe and best of luck.
