Oct. 25th, 2020 01:41 amOmegaverse Lawsuit Video Watch Party With
thebibliosphere, tomorrow at 7pm US Central time. (Time conversion link at source.)
Long story short, some asshole author has been writing and selling Omegaverse romance novels (heterosexual Omegaverse romance novels), finds out another author is writing and selling much the same thing, tries to sue the second author over copyright of the concept of Omegaverse. It went to federal court. The video creator sums up what's going on, and then sums up the fallout from the first video, including lawsuit-happy author trying to take on the video creator in question, with Patreon and YouTube taking the video creator's side. And apparently there's hilarious reenactments of various conversations with other big YouTube names?
Anyway, I've been meaning to watch the first video for absolute ages, and only just found out about the second one, and Joy (thebibliosphere) is very appropriately named, so I sincerely do not want to miss these.

and I miss getting them in convenient written form.)no subject
Date: 2020-10-28 05:40 pm (UTC)I've spent a fair amount of time there, myself; F_W was pretty big among CFUDers, and that was my primary fandom for close to five years, so I wanted to keep up with the memes. And fandom news in general. I also found it useful as a general archive of, well, fandom wank; it was... reassuring? To know that whatever the wank of the day was elsewhere, there was a good chance that some other fandom (or even the same fandom) had done it before and come out the other side, so could we skip to the end already.
Last I knew, the port over to Dreamwidth code, while otherwise successful, had basically destroyed the extant archive, and there were only two post attempts with only one response each. An important fandom monument, lost...
