I wore my tree costume again! I skipped the over-the-eyes mask this year; it doesn't play as well with my current glasses as it did with my previous pair. Luckily, Mom had a thematically appropriate face mask for me to borrow.
My big "costume stop" this afternoon was taking Chester to the dog park, mostly because the idea of a tree walking a dog amused the heck out of me 😆 Parks and Rec(?) had just been through with one of those machines that pulls the plugs of dirt out of the ground, so when Chester stopped to poop and I looked away for two seconds, I couldn't find where he'd left it 😅 Other than that, it was a pretty good trip!
The weather today was fantastic, up over 50 F/around 13 C, so kids were out in force for Trick-or-Treating! For our setup, we had two eight-foot/2.4m tables set end-to-end and laid out our traditional kids books for folks to pick from. A new addition this year was a bowl of milkweed seed pods. I ended up sitting out by the tables (another eight feet behind them, in a folding chair, face mask in place) in costume for the main part of Trick-or-Treating. Overall, I think we had a fairly safe setup, especially with the good weather. We could've done a lot worse.
