I've finished writing the "episode" descriptions for Viewing Room Two, huzzah!

Some highlights:

Bolt Turners in the Sky: In this episode, Wren, a little person in her sixties who has been a Bolt Turner for decades, is leading Tori, a twelve-year-old girl with a lightweight prosthetic leg, through the basics of jumping from place to place with a safety line; Wren takes time to emphasize how, in their line of work, being smaller and more lightweight than average can be a real asset, no matter the reasons.

Rue 63rd: You watch as Kuroko tries painting her nails for the first time, and Hanzo gets a new haircut that better suits his new sense of style; that's weird, when did your eyes get so wet?


(Note to self: Double-check that little person is still the preferred term before going live with the updated game.)


Next up is figuring out a new swath of panels! I need eleven, I think.

Planned so far:
- Social Justice Otaku (discusses a lot of social justice issues in anime and anime fandom, the differences in Japan, etc; hopefully will include links to art tutorials and such)
- Curling For Beginners (what it says on the tin, with a focus on making the sport more understandable for fans of Swept Away)
- I swear I had a third, but can't remember it right now; maybe I can interrogate my fellow staffers over favorite reoccurring panels at the meeting tomorrow...
- Oh wait! "Recipe For Love", where cosplayers dressed as Ken and Yuki from A Sprinkle of Love put on a fake cooking show!

Also tentatively planned:
- Fourteen "wander the hallways/people watching" spots
- Five fan photoshoots (Ghost Girlfriend, Clockwork Under City Lights, Swept Away, His Majesty's Guard, and Life and Times of a Background Character, I think; not necessarily in that order)

Hoped for but I'm not holding my breath:
- Fourteen volunteer spots, with little fake merch things players can earn
- Eight or nine Marketplace/Exhibit Hall spots, with fake merch players can "buy"

A fan photoshoot for Clockwork? Eeeeee squee! I'm imagining both many a picture of tiny, fine-detailed figurines in expertly-staged situations, and a few full-sized people in intricate cosplay. :D

I thought that might make you happy! 😁 It also seemed like one of the titles that would lend itself better to having a whooooole bunch of cosplayers.

I was thinking mostly full-sized people, myself; about five or six years ago, maybe more, there was a huge surge of Pokémon gijinka cosplayers, and I was picturing those. But now that you mention it, a bunch of people in generic steampunk getups with their figurines (and maybe a few puppets!) would probably be a good majority there.

Conveniently, that also gives me an idea for an update of the Clockwork Under City Lights panel; since it's not the only "appearance" of the anime anymore, it doesn't need to be an introduction panel, so maybe I'll make it a tea party! (Sadly, this doesn't count towards the eleven new panels I need, but only because I forgot that one needed editing 😅)

Yeah, I knew the "m" word was out, but my first impulse was to call Wren a dwarf woman, followed by me realizing I didn't know whether dwarf was acceptable so I'd better go with the term I was fairly certain is acceptable, followed immediately by panic over, "Wait, but what if 'little person' is unacceptable and I just haven't heard about it until now?" Brains gonna brain, I guess.
