soc_puppet: Words "Creative Process" in purple (Creative Process)

Oh right, one post a week; I can still totally pull that off!

* Finished mini-Xellos and mini brain slugs; got one Buu-chan done, and the basic body of Vincent!Pony and a Dr. Whoof finished. Still need to find good reference images of Kaien Cross; I think I'll e-mail his commissioner, see if xe can't get me any.

* Speaking of mini-crochet, I am officially upping my charges for it. The next time someone wants something crocheted out of embroidery floss, I'm charging twice my usual rates, because it is a mega pain to work with. At least I'm feeling more able to use double crochet with it now...

* Blargh, moving out! I hate it so. Someday my convention will no longer be on Move-Out Weekend (not to mention competing with Otakon), but it ain't happenin' this year.

* I've found some stuff to listen to while crocheting, hurrah! (Thanks for linking me to someplace to search, [personal profile] inarticulate!) So far I've only started the one, but I'm definitely enjoying it so far: The Secret World Chronicle. I scrolled past it the first time when I saw that Mercedes Lackey was one of the authors in charge, since her writing style and my reading style have not exactly meshed well in the past, but eventually went back due to a number of factors. Yes, scarcity of stories where I was looking was one of the reasons, but I'd been WANTING to like her work for a while, and thought that listening style also might be different enough from reading style to help me get past any remaining blockades.

Short of giving it a comprehensive review, I've been enjoying it pretty well so far. Mind, a comprehensive review may yet be forthcoming, but thus far my complaints are minimal - and half of them have to do with my mp3 players not recognizing the order in which to play the chapters -_-a I'm definitely planning to continue through the next book or two at this point.

I found a few other likely-looking titles so far. One of them, Australian in origin (I've had decent luck with Ausie specfic stuff in the past), has frequently atrocious -written- grammar and fewer female characters than I'd really like, but I'm willing to give it a chance. The other one looks to be slightly more high fantasy than I usually go for, but I'm reasonably sure it has a female main character, so I'm willing to give it a chance as well. Trying them should get me through a few projects, at least. And then there's Librivox, but I'm putting that off for a little while longer, at least; it's a wonderful resource, but I don't know how long I'll have to go before I finally start tuning out the "This is a Librivox free recording" introduction bit.

That's all I've got at the moment; I'll be doing housekeeping (replying to comments and such) momentarily. Thanks for sticking with me, y'all :)

It's always fun to see your updates. I am frequently boggled by the amount of projects you get done. (I am plagued by UFOs - UnFinished Objects.)

Also, totally looking forward to seeing photos, if and when they go up! :D

It does help to have projects be self-contained like that. The things I get stuck on are the ones with gazillions of steps, or ones with really repetitive steps (see also: why I'm not a chainmailer.) The Tetris blanket sounds amazing, if very time-consuming.

Awwww, the kitties are adorable! *flailsquee* And beside their models, too. I like the look on Smolley's face.

... still reading MSPA and haven't run into either of those yet, but they're very cute.

Thanks for the photos!
