A project I finished on Wednesday, actually! This one has been in the works for several months now, and I only finally got around to sewing it all together. (I... may have already talked about it? But I am le tired, and cannot recall.)









Phew, all done!

I made my first crocheted Amish puzzle ball-style-thing for Nibling before xir birth; I found a pattern for "amamani", amigurumi Amish puzzle ball animals, and thought making one would be just the perfect thing for small hands. Lots of things to fiddle with! Something to take apart and put back together, and also, it's soft and huggable!

I ended up making a second one that was just a ball as a dog toy (finally, a soft toy that dogs can enjoy tearing apart, and then you can put it back together in a matter of seconds!), but our current dog, Molly, is completely uninterested in any toy that isn't brown, animal shaped, and, ideally, squeaky. I explained the basic concept to my grandma when she came to visit for Thanksgiving, though, and she was very interested! Interested enough, in fact, to request two from me!

Well, I only had the one ready to go at the time, so I sent it home with her and promised I'd make a second. And now, I've finally finished it! Mom will be sending it in the mail to her sometime in the near future.

In the mean time, I'm horribly tempted to try making more in (other) Pride colors, but I also have to consider every single other creative project on my to-do list. Maybe someday, though!

Thanks 😁 I'll admit, I'm tempted to keep it for myself, just 'cuz it looks cool/pretty. But then I remind myself that it's for my grandma, and also that I can always make another one, so I think I'll be fine 😉

That feels like a fairly consistent struggle for me - if something turns out well and I like it, I don't want to part with it! Though knowing that you can make another probably soothes that a bit!

I'll admit, the individual rings feel a little bit flimsy where each segment meets another, but otherwise they're very satisfying to squish and pull apart/put together!
