Yes, exactly! Most of what I've got so far is nocturnal creatures staying up all day for the summer solstice to make sure the night returns, either covering all the openings that would normally let in sunlight or spending the day underground or something, and using only extremely low levels of lighting inside or maybe only bio-luminescent stuff. For food, I'd say lots of mushrooms, maybe fruits associated with night-blooming plants for the summer solstice.
Winter is a bit trickier for me at the moment. Maybe staying outside all night, star-gazing and telling stories about the constellations, eating a lot of "pocket" food, like ravioli or stuffed rolls and dumplings and such, which celebrate the fillings as things "hidden" in the dark/unseen, and all the more special because of it and such a delight when discovered. Maybe a game to recreate star patterns or planet movement on the ground?
