Thoughts on boobs (mine)

That is, specifically on my own boobs, and whether I want to keep them at all, or just at this size.
Some pros and cons of breast reduction or top surgery:
Pros:
- Smaller or nonexistent boobs means less back pain
- Smaller boobs means I might get to keep some of the sensations I get now, which are probably the biggest reason I'd want to keep them
- Nonexistent boobs means never having to worry about bra shopping again; depending on how small I could go, smaller boobs might also mean this, but there would likely be a lot of depending factors
- Considerably less boob sweat for both options, and thus less chance of chafing
- Nonexistent boobs especially tanks the possibility of breast cancer; not sure about smaller boobs, though there would be less boob for the cancer to form in, so maybe reduction?
- Boobs no longer get in the way of stuff
- Gender feels possibly???
- Nonexistent boobs mean I can go shirtless if I want to without worrying about legal repercussions
- Cool chest tattoos I can then show off as well
- Listen, I mostly don't go in for weight loss as a solution to health problems, but in the case of my bad knees, it might actually help a bit, and I'm pretty sure that breast reduction or removal isn't the sort of weight that's likely to come back in five years or less (though I could stand to read up on that as well)
- Lefty is at least one size smaller than Rightstuff, which probably impacts my options of finding bras that fit (and is slightly aesthetically annoying, I will admit), and reducing or removing would, I imagine, make both sides the same size one way or another
Cons:
- Optional surgery is optional
- I especially don't want to get optional surgery before Covid is actually under control, as opposed to "We're going to pretend it's under control because it makes people feel better"
- I've got two areas with nerve damage already, I don't want to add more
- Pain
- As mentioned above, I do actually like the sensations I can feel through them and might be sad to lose that
- Total removal especially could single me out in a bad way in the current political climate
- Expensive; would Medicaid even cover it?
- Actually managing to reliably find bras that fit well might solve the back pain problem, and possibly also the chafing problem to boot, which are probably my main areas of concern (right after the cancer thing, of course)
These are just some stray thoughts at the moment, mostly because Baby's First Mammogram was last month, and they need to take a closer look, even though it's Probably Nothing.
