Right? Everything always sounded so delicious! I now want to go to the grocery store and track down cheese "studded with nuts and fruit" to nom on, but the grocery store is only open another fifteen minutes and, as stated, my car is in the shop. Anyway, Jaques talks in the foreward about growing up in WW2 rationing and getting frustrated when books wouldn't describe incredible feasts, so he decided to change that when he got to writing. Each recipe also includes a short Redwall-verse snippet! It's very cute 🐭
