Ha ha ha! The furnace is out again 🤦‍♀️ The repair people aren't available until tomorrow or Wednesday at the earliest.

Thankfully, after going out to lunch with my brother and elder nibling (SIL and younger nibling stayed home to rest), my parents and I stopped to get a couple of space heaters; between that, my corn heat packs, and my down comforter, my bed at least is staying pretty toasty.

It's the coldest it's been all year, and that's on top of the metric fuckton of snow that just got dumped on us, so I'm not surprised they're slammed. Still, I've got my fingers crossed that everyone has quick, simple, cheap fixes, so they can get to us and get on their way ASAP.

Oof, agreed. Things are okay in my room for the time being, but I do miss being in other parts of the house and not freezing my toes off. The bathroom especially.

Same! My bed is nice and toasty (I actually got a little too warm when trying to fit in a nap earlier), but I don't know if I'm willing to risk a shower like this. And bathing is important!

So far, so good! I've got both of my current corn heat packs going, and they were really nice and cozy when I took a nap earlier. I'm also prepared to make more if I need to. Worse comes to worst, my parents and I can probably descend on my brother's house for a few days. He and SIL will probably appreciate a couple extra hands to watch the kids, even if it does get a little crowded.
