Filter?

I've decided to create a filter for Mershark Madness/Avery and Zeek stuff, just for my own peace of mind. (I'm contemplating publishing this at some point, so unless I go to like. Royal Road(?) or something, keeping stuff more locked down rather than less is probably the way to go.)

Are you interested in being on the filter? There's no obligation to interact with any of the Mershark Madness posts I make, but if you want to keep up with whatever I'm doing with it beyond vague progress reports, this would be the way to do it.

I note that it sounds delightful but I am historically terrible at reading things in serialized format because I have goldfish memory. If you ping me when you have a complete draft sort of thing, though...:D

I 100% feel that. I tend to let my podcasts pile up a bunch of episodes, then listen to them all in one chunk. That said, I'm still very much in the building-the-building-blocks stage of things; right now I'm focused on the question of "What do merfolk eat, and how the hell do they preserve their food?", but I'm pretty sure "What exactly do I want magic to be able to do?" is going to be up next, followed by questions of the literal physical makeup of the world, including politics and weather patterns. If you want in for that and then to duck out when I start posting actual prose, that is an option, but it's also fine to skip everything until I have a finished draft 👍 And even then...

Honestly I'm expecting it to generally not be your thing? Tonally it's going to be pretty cozy, the whole slow life/light romance thing, very light on angst and fucked-up-ness. Story segments are going to be along the lines of "Zeek and Avery trade snacks from their respective cultures in what is Definitely Not A Date," "Avery makes sure the magic internet core servers stay up through getting a new country connected to the grid," and "Avery has to deal with his Uncle Jake's nosy neighbors back on Earth." If you're still interested, or if you read the smutty oneshot with these characters and it seemed like it might be your kind of dynamic, I would be delighted to share the eventual finished product with you! But my feelings won't be hurt if you think you'd just bounce off of it ✌
