In two years, it'll be 2026; that's a nice, round 250 years after 1776, when the United States of America declared its independence.

It's obviously not the only reason to vote for her, but like. How goddamn fucking badass would it be to celebrate that anniversary with a mixed race Black woman as President?

Not posting there because of Tumblr's reading comprehension problem and I really don't need the extra stress. But like. Maybe I can put it on a shirt or something.

The progress we have made, I tell you! When the declaration was originally signed, Harris not only wouldn't have been able to vote, she likely would have been considered property. If she ends up essentially running the country for that milestone... well! The US has made plenty of wrong turns, but if she makes it (and I really, really, really hope she does, naturally), I think it'd be some really on-point symbolism, incidental or not.
