I totally get why creeping charlie has a bad rep (and, as of making this post, am zero percent surprised to learn that it's in the mint family), but it is such a pretty plant. Those tiny trumpet-like flowers! The purple edges on the scalloped leaves! The way it perks up in spring alongside dandelions and violets! I have absolutely no objections to it taking over an entire lawn.

I totally agree. It's not so wonderful underfoot, though, so if one wants to frolic in the yard with one's companions.

Date: 2025-05-02 04:31 am (UTC)I hear tell that the way to fight mint is with other species of mint 👀 Though at some point, won't you have a garden or lawn that's entirely overrun with mint subspecies? (Perhaps not the worst fate in the world...)
