Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee *falls over dead*
...yeah.
Backstory: See, around Memorial Day Weekend '04 I kinda... casually... mentioned... this weird idea of illustrating The Tale of Prince Ichi (scroll down until you find the long section of italicized stuff; that's it) to the author of said work of art. And I've been kinda... casually... working on it since then. Kinda. As in, not getting a whole lot of it done -_-.
About a week ago my Computer Graphics teacher announced that the next project we had to do was a graphic novel project.
Me: Yay! Glee! A legitimate excuse to draw comics!
Only problem was, I didn't have an *idea* for what I wanted to draw/write about. (Can manga/comic be a verb? It should be able to, I think, if only so writing/drawing/whatevering manga/comics is easier to describe.) I mean, I've got a few ideas rolling around, but none of them are quite ready yet, if you know what I mean. (If you don't know what I mean, uh, I'll have to get back to you later? ^^;... <---busy) To top it off, we had to have a two-page written version of what we wanted to comic done in two days.
I don't know about anyone else, but what I like to do with comic plotting and such usually goes a little like this:
Mentally plot general outline
Mentally plot first arc
Mentally plot first installment
Get to work comicking it on a page-by-page basis.
That means, I do a lot of thinking the damn thing out, and then I don't actually *write* anything until right before I draw a page. To subdivide the final step:
Mentally plot first installment
Plan out first page
Plan out what would fit on page
Scratch out diologue/actions that would be drawn on said page
Draw page
Plan out next page.
So I don't do a lot of actual writing before hand.
The second day we are allowed in class to work on the story, I get a nagging idea.
Idea: What if... we ask the teacher if we could illustrate/finish illustrating 'Prince Ichi' for class?
Idea: The worst that could happen is she'd say no.
Idea: And then you'd be forced to write really crappy story in the little time you have remaining and use that.
Idea: Which you'll definitely have to do if you don't ask.
Me: >_< Okay fine, I'll ask.
So I asked, and she said yes, great, go for it!
Me: O_o Woah! Cool! ^___^!
So I've been working on that like a fiend. And today...
Today I finished what I believe may be the final draft of the first page ^___^!
Don't laugh! You don't know how long the damn thing took! *pouts*
Anyway, I barely finished it before the library closed. And now it's all saved and pretty and wonderful ^_^. Wheeee ^_^! And since then I've been kind-of working like a madwoman on the illustrations I have left. Which actually aren't that many ^____^.
So, yes. That is the story of why I'm dead now.
Looking at the title now? It's like
Zombie!socchan Art Overdrive/Limit Break Attack: Too Much Fan Art!
And I get to go around slaying monsters with art ^____^!
Wheeeeeee ^___^ *zombie*
