Pipe Dreams

Really had meant to make this post instead of the other one, but the spontaneous style switch was just a bit much after a long car trip. (After some looking around it seems to have happened to a good number of the journals set with the default style and not just mine or just a few. At least I stick out a little more now? And the auto-save draft thing got a bit messed up too, from the looks of things. And my Friends Page. The comment links for some entries are only showing up at the top of the page and I'm forced to guess which one goes with which entry. Only four so far, thankfully, but I'm still curious how this will play out...)

The Legend of Atlantis, as recorded in The Illustrated Book of Myths [Neal Philip, 1995]

Because the few websites I checked weren't being helpful and I finally managed to dig it up. Mostly as a point of interest, because I'm using it as a reference for the first MGI story (which will be a prologue of some sort).

Anyway, going to do a slight take on that for MGI. See, there's going to be a sort of sister-city to Atlantis called Squidtopia or Fantopia or somesuch. And it's going to be populated by Otaku. And the reason it sinks is because one of its citizens draws a picture of its patron goddess (the mighty Icka) in a mini-skirt/short toga, and she exacts revenge in her wrath. And possibly Atlantis gets knocked down in the process and the gods decided to use the above as a cover-up story because they were so embarrassed, and to never speak of Squidtopia again. And thus it was lost to the sea.
