Jul. 22nd, 2006 11:23 pmI know that not much of my f'list will care, but I just found scanlations of the Sailor V manga. (For those of you who aren't avid Sailor Moon fans, Sailor V is to Sailor Moon as Magic Kaito is to Detective Conan: It was started first and takes place before the 'main' series, though some of it was written after the latter began. (Though I'm pretty sure the time gap between the former two is smaller than the latter as it contains a fair number of cameos from the main series.))
The scanlators of Sailor V are not only accepting of people who want to share the series, they take time to encourage it frequently. So, while I was busy reading the scanlations in question, I managed to upload them to YSI ♥

These volumes provide a whole new look at Minako from her early days as a crime-fighter. We also get a better understanding of a few of her gadets.
...And some recycled ideas and character designs. Sailor V/Moon: One of the few, proud fandoms with canonical genderswitch! Also, Minako's best friend looks like Ami's long-lost twin sister. And Umino/Melvin was so cloned from Amano. Still, it is hilarious to see the (female! girl power!) Inspector General of the police as a V fangirl ^^; (Plus, it makes the yuri fan in me happy ^_~) Oh, and Artemis is called a Tranvestite Cat in the first (or was it second?) chapter because of his name. Win.
Anyway, go, read ♥ With my blessing, and the blessings of the scanlators ♥ Only about 30 MB each. (...Ahahah, though Takeuchi-sensei would probably still want money. I think the translated Sailor Moon might be out of print, too. (Did Mixx go under? Or was it just eaten by a larger company?) We should petition the offical publishers or something.)
