Poorly laid plans
Nov. 22nd, 2009 08:38 pmHave arrived safely in Texas! Texarkana, to be precise. Which is at least two hours from everywhere, including the two places we usually stay in Texas, thus throwing all of my measurements off. I now also have a better idea of vacation plans.
Turns out we didn't have plans for today, tomorrow, or Tuesday. Or, well, we had one plan for today: lunch with family. And we didn't plan anything else until after that, where the rest of the afternoon was taken up by piling all into the same vehicle (all seven of us) and driving to various flea markets in the area, where only Dad found anything of interest.
And then we made plans for tomorrow and Tuesday on the drive back to the hotel.
Yeah. Well planned out vacation, this! Almost as well planned out as our trip to Hawai'i, and I absolutely loved that one*! [/sarcasm]
Anyhow, based on committee decision, we're going to Shreveport, Louisiana tomorrow (Jeva? I assume you are nowhere near there and/or unable to get free for any amount of time, so I shouldn't even be idly thinking of this?), and then doing the one thing I'm looking forward to on Tuesday: a tour of the twenty or so Half Price Books in the area surrounding Dallas.
Apparently, the rest of our stay here is planned out in equal detail. Joy =_=
* Why yes, esteemed reader, I did manage to be miserable, for two weeks, in paradise. How did you guess? (I don't want to talk about it.)
