Social Distancing Log

For April 11th:

Mom and Dad went to the bulk food grocery store; they found a lot of instant yeast there, to the point where they called and asked what type I might want. They brought me home a pound of the kind we use at work, so I think I'm set for a good while! I should at least be able to get through the rest of the bread flour they bought me last time.

They also picked me up some table salt. Dad was apparently unable to resist the half-gallon sized bulk bag. "It was only $2.50!" says Dad. (Mom tried to talk him into a smaller batch, to no avail.) Barring contamination, it's not like it'll go bad in my lifetime. And even then...

I went out and did my Pokémon drive; I got back just as Mom and Dad were leaving to drop goodie baskets off with my brother and SIL, so they invited me along. Mom handed the goodies over on the porch from arms' length, and Dad and I waved from the driveway; my brother and his wife work at one of the local hospitals, and see a lot of people on any given day, so they're being extra super duper cautious.

I finally made myself some cloth masks tonight! I've got five done, and cloth cut for another four. It's from the fat quarters I'd originally gotten to adjust some of my pockets, but I think this is probably a better use for it. Plus, I'm pretty sure I've still got enough in scraps to extend at least ten pockets, so I should be set.

And that's it for today! Er, yesterday. I got real close to updating before midnight this time 😅

(no subject)

I just logged into MediaFire for the first time in longer than I can remember. All my stuff is still there, and the PDF I made of my MLP:FIM crochet pattern is... The UK version has 5k downloads; the US version has 20k.

I'm not sure how stunned I should be, but it's probably not this much.

Anyway, I'm planning to upload my stingray crochet pattern there to share for suggested donations to public aquariums, which still have aquatic creatures to feed and staff to pay to do the feeding, even without the public visiting. I might take it down again when facilities are open to the public again, but we'll see what happens.

Oh hey, I made it today!

I think Mom went out somewhere today, but I'm not certain, or where if she did. I'm pretty sure Dad stayed home. I stayed home except my usual Pokémon drive.

Finally

I'm finally getting around to watching Heart Hunter and Miracle Queen, the Miraculous Ladybug Season 3 finale! I just got to the Andre Glacier part, and I had to pause to say...

Orange and peppermint? Who took over Andre there? Has he never had the uniquely terrible sensation of drinking orange juice after brushing his teeth? Blackberry and peppermint is better, but not as much as any of us would like; spearmint would be better with blackberry, and even then it can't save the combo with orange. At least orange and blackberry make sense. Also, WTF happened to the flavor count? I thought three flavors was standard, especially for couples.

Clearly something horrible happened to Andre and Astruc didn't mention it because "it wasn't relevant to Marinette and Adrien's story".

Edit: Finished! Gosh those were a stressful pair of episodes. Time to find me a palate cleanser...
