That's so depressing. Since when was it a good idea to put civil rights through a popular opinion poll like that? If we'd done that a century ago, women would not have gotten the right to vote.

There's also the tax-exempt issue

I would hope it's subject to supervision or we'll end up paying taxes to rid people of thetans too.

You know, Maureen Dowd writes one editorial and suddenly the entire NYTimes, if not the whole culture, is anti-Catholic.
