Shirts and bags and books
Apr. 28th, 2007 03:51 pmAaaargh, only half an hour left to update journal, wrrryyyy did I put off that "Make a list of SRS poll links for November plz :Db" thing? DD: Ahem.
Mailed out a couple of shirts today, both of which were more than a teensy bit late -_-a Hopefully I'll get back on track with that. (My excuse for the first is that the transfers had decided to hate me; for the second it's that I kinda don't check my Gmail account all that often :D;;)
On the topic of shirts, I finally got around to finishing the Orange + 75 = Canada design last nightat nearly three in the morning while I was waiting for the shirts to dry, hooray! My motivation was actually a white canvas bag I picked up at Hobby Lobby for about $2.50 (plus tax). I figure, if I get it ironed on and decide it looks good, it's another thing I can offer ♥ ...Also, aprons and bandanas, 'cuz Hobby Lobby has those, too. The bag is 13.5"x13.5"x4", so I'm hoping it'll be both stylish and useful once I get the transfer on it. Sadly, I seem to be running low on yellow ink at the moment, which has slowed down the "applying the transfer to the @#$@#$ bag already" initiative. I'll probably be able to get away with making off with the upstairs ink cartridge, though, 'specially since they're the same type of printer. The straps are a bit shorter than I'd like, but they'll do, and then I'll have a nifty new bag, yay!
More importantly, I just finished reading this book last night, and couldn't be more pleased with the entire thing. It's just absolutely beautiful and delicious and warm and alsdjfsldjfadl. Incoherency-inducing. It took me a little while to get past the first few chapters and into the story, but once I did, I didn't regret it a bit. I love the theological theorizing on how gods came/come to exist, and now reccommend it to anyone interested in that, and also in magic cowboys. Be warned (or enticed), there is graphic man-on-man action.
Long story short, I NEED THE OFFICIAL PUBLISHED VERSION, so I can flip to my favorite parts whenever I feel like it, and otherwise re-read it until the pages fall out. Sadly, it costs money DD: But someday, when I have cash, I will buy it!
...On a slightly more random note, I'm roughly two pages into a Meet the Robinsons fic for Lyzz, which I have decided to call (after much debate) A Day in the Life of Lewis Robinson. *is a dweeb*

Date: 2007-04-29 10:10 pm (UTC)(It's pretty short, anyway... I tried to trim it down to drabble size, but it's about 20 or 30 words too long...)

Date: 2007-05-01 12:23 am (UTC)(I hate when that happens. ...You could always try expanding it and go for a double drabble?) Also, now four pages in, and Wilbur has just walked in on his father(s) and discovered the Terrible (but not Wrongderful
thank God) Secret :Dbno subject
Date: 2007-05-01 09:38 pm (UTC)Asd;kja;dslkfj. I just finished it. And. Alkajsd;lfkj. D: Why isn't there more.
(I don't think I could. I said pretty much everything I wanted to say. I'm still working up the nerve to post it, btw.) Yay! :D

Date: 2007-05-01 09:42 pm (UTC)I knooooooow! It's so awesome and there's loose ends still to tie up and alsdkfjsdlkfjsd ♥♥♥ ...It is my solemn hope that the author will one day expand it into at least one more book, though I'm not holding my breath. In the mean time, I may have to go fichunting.
(Ah, well; it was a thought. And ganbatte!) Now I need to work things out so Lewis can stay in the future :3 Which shouldn't be much of a problem, but there's the issue of what do I do with him in the mean time, so.

Date: 2007-05-01 09:54 pm (UTC)Oh, and I've managed to get one of my friends in on it already. :D I merely had to tell her that it was a scifi fantasy western about magic gay cowboys and she was like "LINK ME" and I did and now she is hooked. XD
(Arigatou!) Hmm....

Date: 2007-05-01 09:57 pm (UTC)If worse comes to worst, I'll actually write some.Awesome :Db I wonder how many steps removed from CFUD it'll get this way...
(^_^b) Decisions, decisions.... I mostly wanna keep him locked in the lab (or possibly Wilbur's room) because I fail and don't remember most of the rest of the family's names, but I'm also really not sure what to do ^^a ...I'd explain in more detail, but I'm kinda halfway out the door, so. When I get back, maybe.

Date: 2007-05-01 10:02 pm (UTC)I approve of this. :DbDo you need help with the names? Cuz I remember all of them.

Date: 2007-05-02 12:43 am (UTC)Okay, then :D PRIORITY ONE: see if Kieran/Ash(es) is an LJ interest! That would be omega helpful, so yes please ♥♥♥ ...Also, I said before that I only needed the little bit from the Science Fair that leads up to when Lewis pushes the button? I lied. I need a little bit after that, too, so I can write the part that makes it absolutely clear that this whole thing is going to work out and stuff.

Date: 2007-05-02 01:07 am (UTC)GO GO SOCCHAN. :DOkay. I'm basically going to paraphrase what he said in the movie.
Bud, Fritz, and Joe are brothers. Joe is married to Billie. Fritz is married to Petunia, and Tallulah and Laszlo are their children. Cornelius is the (adopted) son of Bud and Lucille and is married to Franny. Gaston and Art are Franny's brothers. And Wilbur, naturally, is the son of Franny and Cornelius. Spike and Dmitri are twins, and no one knows who they're related to. Buster is the dog, Lefty is the butler, and Carl is the robot.
Umm. How much exactly do you need?

Date: 2007-05-02 01:14 am (UTC)GOOGLE, DO NOT FAIL ME NOW~!Helpful, so helpful ♥ Also, dog whut. ...Also also, do you know if the dinosaur has a more official name than Tiny? 'Cuz that one I got out of the Disney commercials, but if it's not right, it's good for me to know. Wilbur and Tiny do some real bonding in the fic.
About to the point where it fades out to the next sceene or so? Er, I think that would be about right...

Date: 2007-05-02 01:22 am (UTC)...Well, it's actually the last scene, pretty much, at least the last one with dialogue. I went ahead and just transcribed the rest of it for you. I think this is where I left off.
[Wedding scene plays on scanner.]
BRIDESMAID 1: You look gorgeous!
BRIDESMAID 2: He's a lucky guy.
LUCILLE (in present): Oh... it worked!
COACH: It works.
LEWIS: It works.
LUCILLE'S DAD (in memory): You look beautiful, Lucille.
[BUD is shown on screen.]
LEWIS: Bud?!
BUD (in present): Would you look at that?
LUCILLE: Honey, honey! You're just in time!
LEWIS: Lucille!
MR. WILLERSTEIN: You did it, Lewis, you did it! This invention is brilliant!
COACH: Kid, you're this fair's MVP!
BUD: That was some show you put on! You're a real special kid. But, uh... You don't look like a Lewis. You look more like a...
LEWIS: Cornelius. I get that a lot.
[Frog lands on BUD's head.]
FRANNY: Oh no! Sorry, mister!
BUD: Oh-ho, no harm done.
FRANNY: Frankie, what have I told you about running away?
LEWIS: Frankie?
FRANNY: My star pupil. My name's Franny, and I teach frogs mu~sic!
LEWIS: Really?
FRANNY: Mm-hmm. You know that frogs have more musical ability than people? But uh... nobody believes me. [whispers] They all think I'm crazy. [threateningly] Y-you think I'm crazy too.
LEWIS: No, no. I-I think you're... right.
[FRANNY gasps and gazes adoringly at LEWIS.]
REPORTER: Ah, over here, there he is. Kid, we'd like to get a story on you for the local paper. You've got a bright future ahead of you!
LEWIS: Yeah...
["Little Wonders" plays, end montage with LEWIS getting adopted, audience tears up at touching Walt Disney quote, and everything ends happily. :D]

Date: 2007-05-02 01:29 am (UTC)Thank you ♥♥♥♥♥ *examines transcription* Hmmm, I think it would probably be best if I cut off after the Cornelius thing in the fic, but this is also helpful. Also, Little Wonders ttly owns my soul now, and I seem to be listening to it at least once a day. ...I need more Rob Thomas music.

Date: 2007-05-02 02:58 am (UTC)Hmm, possibly. OMG YES. I TOTALLY APPROVE OF THIS. I LOVE ROB THOMAS. :D And Matchbox 20, of course. I want a Rob Thomas CD, like, now. When my internet stops being an asshat, perhaps I will go buy it off iTunes. I also need more Rufus Wainwright, because I love him, too.
