*seen here is Socchan, sitting in front of a computer (ILU, Mom!)* *she is not watching campfuckuvote anxiously at all, really, she swears, and definitely isn't feeling the least bit impatient* *...not that she's doing her Anime Iowa work either, the lazy so-and-so* *(apparently, her excuse is she left the papers at home and was too lazy to go back and get them)* *instead, she appears to be researching portable software, with a slight emphasis on download managers and IRC clients*

...Don't suppose anyone out there has any sort of opinion on this sort of thing. Or recommendations or anything. Or just something to randomly distract me for the next half an hour or so; that would be good, too.

I use the Chatzilla add-on for Firefow but that's about all I know. ;^^

Portable Firefox? :c?
It opens as if it was a new firefox window. I haven't used it that much (since I don't really download on IRC and my IRC chatting days seem to be a thing of the past, but...) but it's fairly simple and... I'm not sure if it really is, but I find it really light.

And I need to quit saying firefow instead of firefox. ^^;

*nods* It's a version of FireFox you can download and install on a PDA or a USB drive and take with you - bookmarks and everything ;)
Hopefully it'll work, because IRC seems to be an invaluable tool to CFUD players. And I remain optimistic :<

If you like a souped up version of IRC, I'd recommend Sysreset! Of course, Sysreset is merely an add-on to the basic mIRC, but I like the stuff that comes with it. :D

Well, IMO, if you're going to be using IRC chatting only and not for uploading stuff and what not, you should be fine with mIRC. You shouldn't need all the scripting thingamajigies. :D

That's good to hear, then; I'll have to take a look at whether the pirate patch works on the portable version though, which'll probably make my decision for me.
