First, a top hat I made for my brother last night in the space of an hour. It is 100% completely duct tape! (If you want one, it'll cost you $25 plus shipping and the circumference of your head.)
Tomas has gotten into "neat/interesting hats" lately, and asked for a tophat for his birthday. Mom offered to buy him one, so he went to the store last night only to find out that what they had was not what he was looking for. So he came home with a roll of clear duct tape and the intention to make his own tophat out of it.
Some time later, part of a tophat had been fashioned out of clear duct tape and two cereal boxes, and Tomas had set it aside in the hopes of more inspiration later. (Translation: It looked fairly terrible.) When I asked him why he didn't make it out of just duct tape, he told me he'd like to see me do it. So I grabbed my too-small 100% duct tape fedora from where it was sitting (squashed) in my closet and presented it to him. His response? "Now I really do want to see you do it!" So, about an hour and one and a half rolls of clear duct tape later, the hat was finished. Ta-dah!
This other one I've mentioned once or twice I think, but hadn't gone through with until recently. See, I'd been intending to make a snow katamari since last year or so, with bonus desires to paint pretty designs on the outside with food coloring like in the game, and it would be huge and people would come from all over to see it and it would get really famous on the internet and... Anyway, my ambitions proved to be a -bit- too far reaching, and while the snow was initially hard in packing when I made this a week or two ago, I still managed something passable. Now do me a favor and pretend the prince is green, 'kay?
I had not the patience to look for stick legs for him, nor to make him a proper face, but you can more-or-less tell what it is from the picture, right? Anyway, things've been warming up around here, so it doesn't look like that any more, nosireebob.
Next year I might do better.
And that's all I've got for now. Except how school has started and I've been working my butt off at my cleaning job, but other than that, zip.
