Getting this in quick, 'cuz I haven't been sleeping well and would like to at least attempt to take a nap.

EEEEEEE!

Motorcycles! ALdksfjsdljfdslasdfj;lkje!

Power Plant! Oh man, I am so excited to see this. Also hilaritized. Tamura Yumi wrote a manga oneshot that involved people with special powers; in the back of the book it's in, there's some 4-koma where a bunch of people talk about the incredibly boring and mundane jobs they have as people with powers. The fire manipulator? Works at a power plant. The air manipulator? Power plant. The water manipulator? Power plant. Tamura-sensei: "Japan... It needs a lot of power." (Both the oneshot and the book are called "Wild Com".) Anyway, ever since then I've been interested in and amused by the idea of people with incredible powers getting stuck doing what seems like really mundane work. It was fun to see it show up in Korra!

FIRE FERRET, OMG. Pabu, you are totes adorbs! Red panda plus ferret, I'm thinking? Anyway, I totally want one. If the Avatar-verse doesn't have pigeon-rats, they're totally my next choice.

SHIP! Ship ship ship ship ship! Shiiiiiiip. I am all over Makorra like... something on something else. Red on sekihan? Anyway, it'd be nice to see more development of this from Mako's side or something, but the plot of ATLOK is indeed quite tightly packed, so I don't think we'll be getting a lot of time for that, more's the pity. I will content myself with the scraps I have.

How 'bout that lightning rod guy! Anyone else reminded of that one historical dude from the ROD OVA? I seriously need to look up who he was, now.

Now, how 'bout those class issues? Oh wow, so excited to see ATLOK tackling this: the disparity between the haves and the have-nots, those with privilege and those without... Heavy themes for a kids' show, but all the more necessary with the economy in the crapper.

Loved to see that one of the anti-benders Korra and Mako were fighting in the middle-ish of the episode was coded as a lady. Sadly, there still aren't a lot of girls and women with speaking parts as compared to men and boys, and while Tenzin has two daughters, they don't get a lot of the serious conversation stuff to talk about. I'm hoping we'll see more female characters in prominent and speaking roles in later episodes.

Thaaaaaat's all I can think of just now. Uh. More in comments if we get discussin'?
