1) The director's husband was substituting for him this week. I now officially want all the AUs in which Dave and John (or Dirk and Jake) are middle school chorus teachers who end up falling in love and getting married etc. Possibly different middle schools and then Strider's little bro is being taught by JE and JE's younger cousin is being taught by Strider? Or we could switch John's occupation out for science (hopefully biology) teacher and they could be in the same school where Dirk and Jake were attending and stuff. I have no idea whether actually getting this AU will help or hinder my ability to keep from thinking Homestuck shipping thoughts in rehearsal, but if I actually got it I probably wouldn't complain.
Obligatory Quire funnies:
Backstory: Okay, so, we've got some women singing tenor, and in the past we've had men sing alto, which means that instead of going along gender lines when directing SA vs TB to sing, the director has to go with either SA/TB or "upper voices" and "lower voices". Substitute director has directed us before, but it's been a few months and in the mean time he's been teaching middle school students (see above), so he accidentally slipped up and called for the ladies to sing when he meant SA.
Woman tenors: That's fine, he couldn't have meant us; we're not ladies anyway.
New man tenor: Speak for yourself!
Also, there was a longer-time Quire member who claimed not to remember Substitute Director, so someone had to explain that he was Mrs. [Director's name]. Which was quickly corrected to Mr. [Director's name], and then to Correct Name to reassure him that we really did remember who he was, but it was still fun.
2) There are at least two people I've got in my reading circle/on my f'list that I could blame for this, but in the end it was probably Fandom Wank that dealt the final blow: On Saturday I spent an inordinate amount of time plowing through the first season of Teen Wolf. (I was quite pleased to find legit free streaming!) I crocheted pretty much through the entire thing, finishing a somewhat complex commission, one doll for charity, and about 80% of a plain brown griffin. Yay, productivity!
Anyway, that's where some of my brain is now.
3) I'm half-contemplating trying NaNo (again) this year. On the one hand, I've finally figured out the secret to making myself write (and I know that I've said this before, but WTF how is it math) and would love to be extra productive. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure my Snow White reboot is going to need a bit more time percolating before it's really ready to go, and while I've got some fanfic ideas that I could definitely tackle, I don't know if any of them feel quite right for the scale of NaNo. IDK, maybe if Cinderkat's not done, I'll join with that and the hypothetical sequel? On the other other hand, that means I have to get my gift crochet done THIS MONTH because there will be no time what-so-ever to do so in November. Also I will be behind in reading All The Fics, which is daunting to say the least.
IDK IDK IDK. More to think about.
4) I'm trying stimulants! Er, as of tomorrow morning. For my ADHD. Yes. Let us see what happens.

True enough. Though now I actually do have a potential origific idea that I could possibly use. Time to spend the rest of the month CROCHETING ALL THE THINGS! (Hmm, what to make for my brother and father, hmm...)
