Jun. 23rd, 2007 02:30 pmI have a confession to make. There is a lot of music on my computer that I haven't gotten around to listening to yet. My general excuse is that I'm usually at the computer to read, or sometimes to type, and words get in the way of other words. This is why most of my music appreciating is usually done when I'm editing something on PSP. My brother, however, is much better at listening to music than I am. (In this case I credit his MP3 player, since I still haven't been able to upgrade to one yet and am thus stuck listening at the computer 90% of the time.) Thus, I was more than a little intrigued by his music selection for the second CD he's had me burn for him.
I was officially completely charmed by Scissor Sisters' I Can't Decide. At something like the second time through the chorus I'd started to wonder if it was a good song for my very in-progress CFUD FST; hitting the third verse removed all doubt:
Oh I could throw you in the lake
Or feed you poisoned birthday cake
I wont deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone
Oh I could bury you alive
But you might crawl out with a knife
And kill me when I'm sleeping
Really, it had me at "poisoned birthday cake", but the living dead implications just sold it.
I'm still looking for a copy of Pollution (Tom Lehrer), and trying to decide on a better zombie song than Zombie Jamboree (it's nice, but I think there are other things that could fit better?), but it's not doing too badly other than that. Up to eight songs without Pollution, so. I want to at least make it to twelve, though.
On a completely unrelated note,
the_lj_herald reached its first year anniversary and 450th watcher within the past few days! Go stop by and congratulate them! (If you haven't heard of the Herald yet, it basically consolidates information on LJ and its various hurdles and updates; it's a fantastic way of keeping up with things without having two dozen communities friended. Go check it out! Offsite link is here for when LJ is deciding to be exceptionally bitchy.)
