AI meeting, plus some
Nov. 4th, 2007 04:05 pm*makes threatening gesture to computer* Darn you, Storm Hawks fic! Get written already!
Had an Anime Iowa '08 planning meeting yesterday - the last one until February (which is the Staff Recruitment meeting). There were announcements made, and everyone got a copy of the comments on the convention that people wrote on surveys. ...Registration ended up with something like two pages of bad-mouthing :( I totally get why, too, I just... I still wish I could've tried to explain what happened to everyone. And maybe people would've been a bit more understanding, I mean, I know we still would've gotten at least a few jerks who didn't care about our reasons, but still. Unfortunately, that's less than possible, and was certainly unlikely on the day that the flubb happened. On the plus side, the rest of the convention staff knows it wasn't our fault and acknowledges that we got things running fairly well after the initial issue(s), and we all know that we're going to do better this year if it kills us, so that makes me feel somewhat better.
Anyway, now that that's out of my system, here's some Very Advanced Warning/Information about a change that is quite likely to be coming up soon: the con com have been throwing around the term "registration cap" and the number "three thousand." I'm not confirming anything until someone makes it official, but it sounds like it's going to be. ((Some vindictive part of me is laughing internally at the person who wrote that they wouldn't be pre-reging again after the computer issues of this year. It is a small, petty part, but it is still there, and I will not do myself the wrong of refusing to acknowledge it.))
Hallowe'en party at Pat-and-Chris' apartment later that evening, wherein Taboo was played and there was much altering of the rules and also laughter. And then physics lessons, for some reason. We all managed to file out around 1:00 to get to our respective places of residence. Hurrah for sleep?
Obligatory "get cards from
socchan!" sign-up post bump goes here :3b
