Note to self: If, in the future, you will be moving in with cats for a period of time that exceeds a week, allow them to warm up to you on their own. Do not go out of your way to lavish attention and pettings/skritches on them, as they will take it as a given that this is what they will get the next time they see you, no matter what else you may be doing at the time.
This note brought to you by Smalley (...I really have no idea how to spell her name; I should ask), who, whenever I walk between the kitchen and the living room, has decided that I have gotten up/moved for the sole reason of petting her. This is compounded by the fact that she likes to sprawl and move around while I am doing said petting, so I must be capable of movement myself to accomplish this. While there are times I do not mind stopping to pet her, there are other times when I am actually doing something, and would rather she not get in the way of my feet as I am stepping forward. Or at all.
In other news, out-of-town family has come a' callin', so I can't guarantee that I'll be particularly attentive for the next few days. Also, I am tired now, so I am going to sleep.
