soc_puppet: Words "Creative Process" in purple (Creative Process)
Today starts Lent! Which I subscribe to more in a "Let's change a habit for the better!" sort of way than to feel particularly closer to Our Lord Zombie Jesus who would very much like us to become cannibals like him. (I have decided (for now): I'm culturally Catholic, and spiritually more-or-less Dogma Catholic.)

I've decided to try and add a good habit to my daily routine: write at least one hundred words a day. ...And/or draw an at least semi-complex picture. Bonus if the hundred words is for my still unfinished NaNo, but fine if it's not.

Today's hundred words are over here. I have no idea where it came from, but I am vaguely hoping it will eat my brain. I've been wanting to write a longer Jetko story for a while now. (Psst! Encourage me, I am feeling insecuuuuure.)

I've also started practicing Health At Every Size (HAES) to the best of my ability, though I started that last week, so it's not exactly a "Lent" thing. It's definitely something I encourage everyone to take a look at, though.

Moving on, there's some art I've been meaning to re-post around these parts. First, this piece, which I drew at Icon last October during Jim Hines' reading of his story, "The Creature in Your Neighborhood". It's a hilarious story, and you should totally read it, especially if you know anything about Sesame Street. I started drawing just the Mall Rats, which is why they're the biggest things there. Then there was a lot more story, and it was still too late to start filming it to have a copy for myself (which is why I'd started drawing the Mall Rats in the first place), so I kept on drawing. It worked out pretty well, I thought :) Incidentally, I'm also responsible for the sale of a book. Clearly, big-name publishers need to hire me on the side to draw dorky cartoons about things they want to sell ;)

The second piece was also inspired by Jim Hines, though in a more roundabout way. See, Jim was all: I don't know stuff, including "whether an anime-style Snoopy fighting cat-ninjas would be awesome or terrifying."
And I was all like, "Goddammit! I was going to take a nap today!"
And, well. This happened. On the plus side, I did get a nice, shiny Seal of Awesome for it :Db Also, it was super fun to draw, which perplexed me, but wev. Yay, drawing fun things!

I think I'll end this entry here, since it's rambley enough already. Remind me to ramble about dorky Pokémon stuff and The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (short version: very engrossing; I liked it!) tomorrow.
