Yeah, so, uh. If I hadn't forgotten to bring the icon that is proof that I am a terrible person, I would be doing an icon dump right now. As it is, you're stuck with the one Snooch icon, and will have to wait for the others later. Wrrrryyyyy did I have to forget that one? *fails* And yeah, if I drank, now might be a time I'd go for it. 'Cuz I've got yet another art project due tomorrow that I still haven't really started on. And every time I think about starting it, I get an attack. Unless it's in the abstract sense that I'll be able to make everything up and it doesn't have to be from real life or something. Then I'm... not terrible. But I'm still dead meat tomorrow, as me doing this and the final is pretty much my one chance of passing the class at this point. Which I would be considerably more okay with if the teacher hadn't pointed out (in front of the class, no less) that I (specifically) was going to fry if I didn't start turning things in. Just because I don't look like I've got ADHD in class doesn't mean I don't have it... *grumble grumble* *should reeeeeally get to work on that paperwork* Also, mood is now back in the gutter range ¦D Go, me! So much for it being a really, really short bout of depression. Hopefully I'll feel better once my meds are changed. Or something.
Anyway, someone distract (read as: spam) me. I feel like talking right now.

Date: 2006-10-26 01:28 am (UTC)So.. what is this art project, if you don't mind my asking?
Also, I need to finish up my current plunnies and commission and get around to playing in your sandbox - have a plunnie for your Tentacular-verse. =3

Date: 2006-10-26 01:38 am (UTC)Three weeks ago we were assigned to draw something on a page of 22"x30" 'good' paper. It had to include six 'objects': one clear vessel of water or other clear liquid, one reflective metal object of some complexity, one piece of food, and all or a significant part of the human figure. The other objects could be anything. It also had to have a piece of cloth, somehow draped or folded, but it didn't count as one of the objects. All of them had to fit together in a theme of some sort. It was also strongly hinted that we had to draw at least some of it from real life, as he doubted our collected ability to draw folded/draped cloth from imagination. Which is valid in at least my case, but still kinda sucks, as I'm not much of a 'from RL' person, unless it's by choice.
*a moment of silence, followed by an earthshattering "SQUEE!!"* Have I ever mentioned that I love you? ♥♥♥? And can I possibly poke you for details? :3

Date: 2006-10-26 01:48 am (UTC)Oooo.....the first thing that came to mind was a metal pitcher, a glass of water, and a loaf of bread on a table, with a napkin being the folded cloth, and a pixie/fiary(small human with insect/butterfly wings) somehow involved - if you know your teach' is okay with it, you could have one nekkid male pixie backing another nekkid male pixie back onto the loaf of bread(if the bread is fairly low or a couple of piled slices), or whichever mix of genders sounds good - it's completely my preference to gravitate immediately to two male pixies X3;;; And other objects... saltshaker, or candle/candleholder, or some fruit(if you can have multiple 'food' objects), partially visible bowl or small desert cup with icecream etc etc.
XD! ♥ I shall find where I typed up the plunnie and get back to you in a few minutes, hai!

Date: 2006-10-26 01:54 am (UTC)againand will be able to pay for my own internet! *determined*...Dang, that sounds
hawtawesomeboth hawt and awesome. But I probably couldn't get away with it :/ This teacher's been pushing realism for most of the class, unfortunately (and then pulled a complete 180 for the final project when he handed the assignment sheets out yesterday =_=). Why is it all the cool teachers have to give the hardest assignments?Yay! *boogies*

Date: 2006-10-26 02:17 am (UTC)And now, the plunnie! :D
Setting: University dorm in the middle of finals
*someone hunched over a book*
*clock ticking, pages rustling*
*door creaks open, revealing a tired looking young man with shaggy black hair(Drake)*
*Drake drops bookbag on the chair, stumbles through to the bedroom, where first person studying is*
*Drake stops, takes in the image of his intent, focused roommate on the top bunk bed - who has tentacles. wrapped around the bedposts*
Drake: 'Why... is Tom wearing a costume- no No, I don't want to know.' *walks over to Tom* Yo Tom, you have the psych textbook up there?
*Tom distractedly reaches over with a tentacle, grabs up the requested textbook and dips it over to Drake* Here.
Drake: *blinkblink* 'that... is not a costume.' *Drake lightly takes hold of book* You're going to explain this, right?
Tom: Hell no. I have a Calc III final in less than- *checks watch strapped to bundle of tentacles serving as an arm* -twelve horus. If you weren't taking notes in Psych, I am not going to review it for you.
Drake: ....not what I was talking about *tug-tugs on book*
Tom: *looks over*
*tableau holds for a beat*
Tom: Oh.... oh nooooooo *jerks tentacles in, drags blanket over himself*
Drake: Tom?
Tom: Bring me the salt.
Drake: *blink* what?
Tom: I'm gonna shrivel up and die now, thanks.
Drake: ........ I'm going to make coffee. *walks out in a daze, calls back* And you owe me an explanation!
Tom: *groan*
Drake: And for fuck's sake don't go to the final like that!
Tom: *groooaaaaan*
*five minutes later, Drake wanders back, holding two cups of coffee*
*Tom is asleep when Drake pulls back the blankets, passed out and drooling slightly on book. He still has tentacles*
*Drake sets Tom's alarm for hour hours hence* And you ~still~ owe me that explanation. *turns off main room light, leaving only the bedside lamp on, leaves to study in kitchenette*

I could stand it if they didn't give such heavy workloads :/

Date: 2006-10-26 02:56 am (UTC)XD Thanks! Poor Tom, He's a behavioural scientist, not a mathematical one, and Earth math is so weird and convoluted and and and- *spaz* (I'm guessing his species didn't come with base ten math, or even base eight, or.. mmm.. maybe twelve? Or six? Or something else alltogether. It's just that Earth math is so different from what he barely managed to get through the first time and.. yeah X3;; )
>.> nrrr... yeah, there's this one particular art history teacher where you definitely know your stuff when she's done with you. But I still like her classes XD;; And then of course there was the archeology class, where it helped that I'm, uh, slightly obsessed with Egypt. XD;

Date: 2006-10-27 01:20 am (UTC)Yeowch. Definitely poor Tom >_O (To tell the truth, I don't even know what base anything math is, and I consider myself somewhat math-savvy :D;;; But yeah, I can definitely see their math being different. And probably also their counting systems.)
I take it that 'slighly obsessed' isn't so much an outright lie as it is a gross understatement? ;)

Date: 2006-10-27 01:51 am (UTC)The reason I know this so well is because computers work on binary, so they had to explain the concept of base ten versus base 2 to us. See, because you only have on/off to use for 'numbers', you count 00, then 01... and then 10.
0(base ten) = 0(base2/binary)
1(base ten) = 1(base two)
2(base ten) = 10(base two)
3(base ten) = 11(base two)
12 is an easy base because you can divide it by two, three, and four. I thought maybe base six for them because 3(tentacles per arm) x 2 = 6. Or they might use some other base completely.
X3;; but that's just me being completely geeky.
*l* And that would be correct, yep. XD

Date: 2006-10-26 01:43 am (UTC)It's taken from Two Lumps, a hilarious webcomic that portrays cats, I feel, in a very realistic manner. Or at least more realistic than, say, Garfield (as amusing as Garfield is).

Date: 2006-10-27 02:46 am (UTC)--Opening--
The General was fifteen minutes late when he bothered to show up for the meeting. He brushed past the two men guarding the Fire Lord's council room with a casual smirk and settled nonchalantly into his place near the head of the table.
An advisor cleared his throat and rose. "Now that we are all here," he said, shooting the General a pointed glare (which the General ignored), "we can get down to buisness. First of all, farmers in the south are complaining of..."
The General smothered a yawn and tuned the advisor out. The meetings usually went on like this for some time, with various council members addressing problems facing the Fire Nation and its citizens, and various other council members offering possible solutions. The General didn't really care about the price of cabbages world-wide, or what different villages were doing for certain Fire Nation holidays, so he mostly didn't pay attention. Instead, he tended to let his mind drift; this time, it drifted to the past.
The Fire Lord had appointed him six months after the war had ended to help maintain order in a nation undergoing forcible regime change. He had been suggested for his intimate knowledge of the workings of smaller resistance groups. The new Fire Lord, recognizing the wisdom in this, had reluctantly offered him the position. He was now one of the youngest Fire Nation generals ever, as well as one of the few not to be a bender, and served under the second youngest Fire Lord in history.

Date: 2006-10-27 02:47 am (UTC)----
"...inally, some fishermen off the northern coast have reported being attacked by Earth Kingdom ships." The General's eyes sharpened and his mind snapped back to the present. "According to eye-witness reports, the attackers appear to be using Earth Kingdom fishing boats for that purpose in our common waters. After our ships settle into their routine, the Earth Kingdom ships get into range, and then do anything in their power to sink our boats; this includes using earth that had been carried onto the Earth Kingdom ships and hidden in lifeboats to punch holes in our ships' hulls. In the past month, we've lost no less than three ships to the attackers, and numerous others have been taken in for repairs, thus hitting a serious blow on our fishing trade.
"Earth Kingdom claims no knowledge of the attacks, prior or otherwise, and condemns the attackers. They have offered to help us in any way they can in bringing these rogue fighters to justice. Meanwhile, we need to work out a way to defend our people on our own." The speaker examined his audience, waiting for ideas.
The General was the first to speak. "We need to send out the remaining ships, crewed with our finest soldiers, who will be disguised as ordinary fishermen. When those rebel idiots from Earth Kingdom see all of our ships, ready for the taking, they'll attack; but we'll be ready for them!" He punctuated his speach with a punch to his hand and a dark smirk. The other council members smiled nervously, but said nothing.
The wall of fire separating the council table and the Fire Lord's throne (a formality that the current Fire Lord disapproved of, but had not yet been able to eliminate) flared up. The flames parted as the Fire Lord stood. "No. I will not condone such excessive force to stop a few measly rebels. We will work together with Earth Kingdom however we can to protect our citizens. We'll start by setting up a patrol around the northern waters. If we have enough soldiers left over, we'll send some out as guards with the fishing boats. We'll also fortify the fishing boats against attack however we can, including arming them. Any objections?" There was a collective shaking of heads from the other council members as the Fire Lord stared the General down; the General shifted in his chair and glared at the table, but said nothing. "Good. Work out the details, and see that it's implimented." The flames returned to their original height as the Fire Lord settled back in his throne, and the council members began to speak again. The General remained silent, but this time when his mind drifted, it was on more immediate matters.

And then pr0n happens.
Er, yeah. Hope it was clear enough who was who (I'm pretty sure it was, and the pr0n-y bits will definitely make it clear, but I gotta check). ...Also, I still can't believe I actually wrote the Fire Lord using the Royal We XD (Any idea if there's a way to address the Fire Lord directly without using "Fire Lord So-and-so"?)

Date: 2006-10-27 02:53 am (UTC)It's very clear! :DDD I sooo can't wait for the rest of it. (Hmm. Well, since Zuko is a prince and Azula is a prince, perhaps the Fire Lord is a bit like a king, and can be called Your Majesty?)
