soc_puppet: Words "Tragic Tale" in dark blue (Tragic Tale)

If you've been thinking of seeing The Hunger Games and have camera motion sensitivity issues, you might want to reconsider. Or at least put it off for a little while. I gave the film twenty minutes before the unsteady footage made me walk out; I'm sure it's a fine film otherwise, and the ambient temperature of the theater certainly didn't help me feel any less motion sick, but when I was still having problems after moving to a higher line of sight, I knew it was time to get.

The thing is, I wasn't even going to see the film in the first place. I've been actively avoiding the books; I know they're supposed to be really good, but I don't do well with dystopian settings, and I didn't want to become emotionally invested in something that would only leave me drained at the end. Then Mom told me that one of my cousins was an extra in there, so the whole family was going to go watch, and I figured, what the hell? I probably would've stuck with it if I hadn't started to feel so nauseous.

All that is to say, I don't particularly feel like I'm missing out, though I do feel a little bad that my parents dropped the money on a ticket for me. Matinee showing or not, movie-going is expensive. I feel worse for anyone who's been looking forward to the movie but has similar camera motion issues, though.
