Hopy shit, I got second place! Score!
I was totally doubting that I'd place for a while, 'cuz there's some truly awesome stuff that got submitted, but I made it!
Now I just gotta watch the winning video, so I can see how thoroughly I was blown out of the water :P

I mean, on the one hand, potential source of extra canon and I won it in a contest for being awesome at creative things. On the other hand, the novel's basically been confirmed as apocrypha only and my experience with novelizations in general is poor at best, so. I'll probably give it the "old college try", at least? I mean, it'd be really great if I do like it, just. My expectations are not that great.
Honestly, I really wanted the DVDs /)_(\ I managed to nab the first season before Target et al realized that they could be making MORE MONEY off of it and raised the price another $5 (while claiming to have dropped the price, no less), but I am seriously too broke to afford the second season and was crossing my fingers on this chance. Plus, while it's great that MTV has the entire series up to watch for free on their website, my computer is old and crappy and can't keep up with streaming, so I still haven't seen all of season two. [/whining]
Still, I really am glad I placed :) It proves that my Ship In A Bottle concept is relatively popular and it gave me a chance to try and pull it off and got the idea some free publicity to boot! If I like the book on top of that, I'll consider it a major bonus.
