soc_puppetHeadcanon: Marinette makes cloth menstrual pads for herself and anyone she knows who asks for some. The most she usually charges people for is cost of materials, but to friends she often gives big stacks for free. One of her favorite things is finding a fabric pattern that her friends will smile at during that time of the month. Even friends who use other products often get some, if only because they're good for leaks.
(Surprisingly, this was not actually prompted by real life events.)
(Side note, pink camo would be about the best pattern for cloth pads.)

Date: 2019-11-03 01:58 am (UTC)* Alya gets a fresh stack of specific-animal/hero-themed pads every time a new hero shows up; somehow there is always at least one fox-themed pad in the stack, no matter who the new hero is, and Alya has yet to get a satisfactory answer out of Marinette for why it keeps happening
* Rose and Juleka get complimentary and/or matching pads
* Rose, Juleka, and Marinette all get some that are Kitty Section themed as well
* Everyone in class has asked for pads from Marinette at one point or another—except Chloe**; even Sabrina managed to work up the courage to ask one day, out of Chloe's line of sight
* Chloe still has some of Marinette's homemade pads, though; Marinette snuck a stack of bee themed pads over shortly after Queen Bee made her debut (possibly while in costume herself); Chloe still hasn't admitted to anyone that she uses them almost religiously, and saves her favorites for her light days, but Sabrina has totally noticed
* Marinette always keeps an extra stack of emergency back-up pads in her locker for anyone who needs one; if someone ran through their products unexpectedly quickly, or is having an extra heavy day and didn't pack enough, or started early or late or any other reason, they can go see Marinette and she'll make sure they have at least one pad to get through the day
** Not sure about Lila here. (I initially actually forgot about her, and considered leaving her out anyway, because reasons, but whatever.) Possibly Lila asked for some, but Marinette hasn't gotten around to actually making her any because she keeps "forgetting". Possibly Alya decided to lean on Marinette a bit to make sure Lila got some, or possibly not; if Marinette ever did deliberately make any for Lila, they would still have been well made, but would almost certainly have had some sort of secret spite message that Lila may or may not have been able to pick up. (Maybe they're all Ladybug themed, and Marinette smiles so! Brightly! When she gives Lila a stack that are "Based on your very best friend!" And Lila has to grin and bear it. Possibly they're a completely horrible pattern or a color that Marinette has somehow picked up that Lila absolutely loathes. Possibly they've got some sort of moralizing message printed on the fabric. Who knows!)
Another possibility is Lila needing an emergency pad and Marinette feeling pity/sympathy just long enough to give her a few from her emergency locker stash; Lila is terrible, but Marinette has been on the bad end of not having supplies more than once (which is why she started keeping an emergency stash in the first place) and knows how much it can suck. (The fact that she got a smug little thrill over being a better person than Lila didn't hurt, though.)
