Crochet WIP
Jan. 16th, 2011 12:53 amHoly fuck, that Homestuck update. Holy fuck, that Homestuck update...!
Well! In order to celebrate the many and varied ways in which that update was absolutely mind-blowing, I feel the need to share some crochet WIP pics. Remember that present I mentioned wanting to finish for my brother before his birthday yesterday? Y-yeah, didn't manage that. I blame sleeping through most of Friday. But I am a lot closer than I was this morning!
Anyway. Grumpiest troll:

He still needs hair and a face, but other than that he's pretty much done :3b The hair's going to be an epic headache, but his face should be okay to make at least.

Karkat: Retrieve Arms

====>

They're right here, bulgereek.
The embroidery is a bit messy, his head's technically a bit on the small side, and his sides aren't entirely smooth when his arms are tucked in, but other than that I'm pretty damn pleased with him :) Extra kudos to my brother for actually requesting "retrievable" arms on this ♦ I wasn't planning to do it, but then he said I should, and I can hardly resist a challenge of my crochet skillsapparently.
Yes, there are holes under his arms where they get tucked in; in fact, it's a tube of crochet that goes all the way through. It works pretty well, IMO.
Anyway, the basic "Homestuck-style body" pattern will go up on
hooked_on_anime eventually, I just don't particularly know when. Maybe I'll save it for next month, aim to keep up an "update with something once a month" schedule. I also kinda wanna make Problem Sleuth; I've got a good concept in mind for how he could work (provided I ignore some of the 3D effects; he's totally going to still be a stick figure) and it would probably make me feel a bit better about being late with Karkat ^^a
Anyhow, I'm hungry, and so are my rats, so I'mma get to work on taking care of both of those things. And then probably sleep. Because I like sleep.Here's hoping all the html will work in the actual post here and on LJ... And work it does! Score :Db

Date: 2011-01-16 06:22 pm (UTC)Actually making the pattern is a bigger pain for me; I don't like to think about how often I end up having to start something over, or undo half of a part, or throw something out. I have an entire extra pair of arms left over from Bubby, for example. (They were too big! >:|)
TL;DR: Thank you for the compliment ^__^
