Pronoun Trouble

This week, I recommended the webcomic "Awful Hospital" on queerly_beloved, with a few great big content notes.

I also interacted with the comments on February's public post ('Sleeping together' does not mean literally sleeping!) on kittens_and_spitefic.

Hahahahaha... ha ha... ha.

Yeah. I keep remembering that Community Thursday is a thing in the middle of the day, then completely forgetting to do anything about it before it's almost too late. Yesterday it turned into actually too late. D'oh! In the spirit of only being a day late rather than a week late this time around:

Today, I posted the Thursday Friday Recs at queerly_beloved. I aim to have an actual rec to contribute next week.

I also made a post at allthemiraculous about Miraculous Cocktail Recipes/Flavors. For those of you who are remembering Your Flavor, this is not quite the same, in that the cocktails are more set dressing than subject, but I do apparently have fun trying to come up with themed food and drink ideas related to my fandoms 😂 "Spoilers" for a not-yet-written fic appear in the comments, so be aware if you go digging; I'm prepared to cross-post what I've gathered over here if anyone would prefer that.

I've missed doing a roundup two weeks in a row now, so I'm making sure I won't miss this week!

Thursday (and "Thursday") Recs posts on queerly_beloved: December 9th (oops), December 16th (double oops), and December 22nd (yay!), the last of which I recommended staying warm or cold, as per local weather-related guidelines.

I also got the monthly public post up at kittens_and_spitefic on December 3rd; the theme for this month's post is "gift giving".

And I'm caught up! Yay!

Can't remember if I did anything else offhand; I'll have to do some looking around later.

Last week for Community Thursdays, I was too burnt out to do more than make a general recs post on queerly_beloved, and didn't even record it here. This week, though, I posted a proper rec for the podcast and graphic novels, The Adventure Zone: Balance! (Why yes, I did just finish listening to the full storyline for the fourth time. Time for the bonus episodes!)


I also did some maintenance at kittens_and_spitefic, clarifying and updating some rules/policies (public), making a post where users can request help wording their prompts (community locked), and making a prompt post of my own (community locked, 18+).

I think I probably have more maintenance in my future, though, to figure out how to approach prompts that would welcome both SFW and NSFW content. Having people make two separate posts, one age restricted and one not, seems like a recipe for confusion at best. My current thought is to separate the content request types into "NSFW preferred" or just plain "NSFW" and 18+ age restriction for posts where the nature of the request/prompt is NSFW (requests for certain sexual positions, for example), "SFW only" sticking with posts where the requester doesn't want any NSFW content, and a new "Mixed ratings" tag for posts where the prompt is open but not limited to NSFW content (requests that add a suggestion of something that would be hot at the end, but the prompt itself need not include), and having people use the new content-hiding arrows for any NSFW fills for those. Like what I'm doing with the public topic suggestion post.

I'll admit, this is slightly more figuring out than I was hoping to do after launching the community, and I don't quite relish updating again quite so soon after the previous announcement, but it has been less than a month, so honestly it's probably not too bad. Good to get this stuff figured out ASAP, even if it wasn't before the community launched properly.

I also recommended The Shivadh Romances at queerly_beloved. (I may be looking to take a break from making recs myself for a while. I hate to say it, but I'm running out of material! If I do take a break from making recs, I'll still make weekly posts asking for recs from the community.)

Finally, I did a lot of talking and planning for a new community I plan to start, tentatively named Kittens and Spitefic. You can read the posts and comments I have on it so far here.

This week, I recommended the Gay Anarchist Yoga and Erotic Cooking Association Podcast on queerly_beloved.

I also commented about my scarlet macaw griffin plans and progress at justcreate.

This week I doubled down on my recommendation of Ana Mardoll's "No Man of Woman Born" on queerly_beloved.

Just found out about Community Thursdays from vriddy last week, and I must say that I am quite intrigued! I'm currently vaguely planning to make some sort of recs post on queerly_beloved, but I might try to come up with something to post on allthemiraculous as well, IDK.

Anyway, wanted to do a quick post about this before Thursday actually arrives in my time zone, let some more people know it exists 😉
