socchan! You've just passed your CDL school bus test! What are you going to do now?
Socchan: I'm going to Half Price Books! :Db
The original plan was to go to a movie, but then it turned out that Dad was going to Half Price, so I figured, why not! And go I went. I ended up spending an even nineteen dollars on four items, the two I'm willing to mention being a single-volume collection of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles (complete with nice list of other books by the author which makes me feel horribly ...left out? as I have only read one of them and know not where to locate the others), sans short story, and the other was the first volume of a light novel series called The Pirate and the Princess, which I can expect to find no other volumes of ever in my life in book stores anywhere, because that's how the world works. Which of course means that I've only read the first few pages and am already in love. (Also, it was put out by Seven Seas, which does fantastic translation and adaptation work.) I look forward to finishing it and obsessing about it and digging wildly through the internet for fan translations, followed by eventual defeat and maybe finding a copy of some of the next books (provided they were ever released here, hope hope) on Amazon someday when I have money. And possibly even writing short fanfics in the mean time, who knows. *is actually chickenshit about writing for series when she knows they have more canon out she's not familiar with yet*
On a related note, I keep waiting for my expected self-esteem boost from passing my test (with flying colors! Nine points off the driving part (I took the three left turns a little close, which I guess means I did all righ--okay, I'll stop, I'll stop!), two points off of skills (a little wide on my right turn, but hey, can't complain too much about that), and perfect on Pre-Trip Inspection, go me!), but I'm not getting much of one. Hopefully it'll kick in soon.
I am now exhausted for reasons I would rather not think too deeply about, so I'll leave it there. Unless I re-think it later and decide to post my Completely Unsexy TMI thing after all - though if I do, I'll try and temper it with something slightly more savory. Either way, that's it for this post.
