Here's the snow-related happenings thus far:
School this morning: Neither canceled nor delayed.
Snow: Present and falling. Lets up slightly (at least in my area) basically right after I've dropped the last kid off.
School this afternoon: Out two hours early. Which means I only spent two hours at home between morning and afternoon routes. Yay.
Snow: Started up again pretty much right when I was getting on the road. Changed to stinging bits when I got back to the lot, then back to fluffy.
Apartment driveway: Still steep. Still unplowed/unsanded. Went out and salted some myself yesterday evening and this morning. Had to re-salt this afternoon to make it to the top of the driveway. Had to stop several times and re-try, and had to stop and re-apply accelerator twice on successful try in order to avoid crashing into one of the cars that is parked in the driveway. No collisions.
Now: [City where Socchan lives] has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY, ZOMG! [Schools of aforementioned city] have canceled after-school activities. For today. No word on school tomorrow.
Me: Wait, let me get this straight. We've declared a snow emergency. We closed school early today in order to avoid horrible traffic happenings. Our entire region and our state in particular are making national news because of how much snow we're supposed to get. And you don't want to commit to saying we're canceling school tomorrow just yet?!
SIGH.
If you need me, I believe I will be checking the local news, to see if they have anything to say about school cancellations. Also, why does "canceled" have only one L, but "cancellations" have two? This is not of the sense-making!
